K7 focus screen?

Hi,
I did the unimaginable, dropped and broke my K10D. I did not plan to upgrade to the K7, at least not yet, but my hand is forced. I know that I could pick up another K10D or a new K20D, but that magnesium body shell looks pretty impressive right now!
I know that the K7 has a changed viewfinder, but does anybody know about the focusing screen? I have a Katz Eye now, which I have found indispensable with all my old lenses. Will my old Katz Eye fit the new K7?
If not, you will soon be able to find it in the marketplace.
Thanks, John

Yeah, uh-huh, we believe you that it was just an accident :-D

All kidding aside, the screen will not work. That's why I sold my katzeye along with my k20d in anticipation for k-7. they do say the screen is much better so I'll see if i'll "need" a katzeye for it (suspecting I will), but will have to wait for it to come out in the first place.

New Katz Eye

It was an accident, really!

I was pretty sure that was the case. And it is not just my old camera lenses, but the ones that I came with that are not quite as good as they used to be. Katz Eye will get me again.

K-7's focusing screen is bigger than the K10D/K20D's one. I doubt the Katz Eye screen you have now will fit in K-7.

L80 (K20D screen) at left and M60 (K-7 screen) at the right): See Link below

I find it interesting that Pentax reverted to the xx-60 reference...
This could be a good thing for old lenses owners with exposure problems...

Happy Birthday!

It being my birthday today, at my wife's urging, I just pre-ordered a K7 from Amazon.

I guess that the focus screen will work itself out as we go along.

WOW!!

Actually, I put a battery back in my K10D, and the original focus screen, turned it on, and it worked! It seems to have all its functions, but there is a big hole in the bottom near the battery door. Can't keep much dust out in that condition, plus who knows what might fall out next.
