I know it depends on the situation, but let's say you're just walking around.
I find that sometimes I'll have to set the aperture and shutter speed myself on manual.
Like, I'll set the camera on aperture mode and open to...say F11, and the shutter speed is ridiculously fast.
Basically P and Auto mode never seem to give me the shots I want.
Btw - I'm not one for post-processing. I kinda like to just shoot. I think altering photos afterward defeats the purpose of taking shots in the first place. But I guess that's a discussion for another day.
I'm mostly an AV guy.
Every digital photo is post-processed. Either the camera does it automatically in-body (jpg) or you do it yourself on the computer.
