When you shoot, what mode to you set the camera to?

I know it depends on the situation, but let's say you're just walking around.

I find that sometimes I'll have to set the aperture and shutter speed myself on manual.

Like, I'll set the camera on aperture mode and open to...say F11, and the shutter speed is ridiculously fast.

Basically P and Auto mode never seem to give me the shots I want.

Btw - I'm not one for post-processing. I kinda like to just shoot. I think altering photos afterward defeats the purpose of taking shots in the first place. But I guess that's a discussion for another day.

AV+raw!seems to work the best for me TAV any other time.

I'm mostly an AV guy.

Every digital photo is post-processed. Either the camera does it automatically in-body (jpg) or you do it yourself on the computer.

I like to use TAV most of the time, sometimes I go M when use MF lens .

Av for DOF control around 90% of the time, shooting in RAW.
TAv for being able to freeze action as well, around 5% of the time.
And M elsewhere.
Rarely Sv and P.

TAv changes the ISO sir.

Av, max JPG most of the time. Tv sometimes. M when using my old lenses. RAW when I feel like the shot is risky and I really really want it to be usable.

Mode is on 'P' when the camera is off, or I'm just walking around...ready to shoot immediately and at least get something. After that, I almost always switch to (hyper) manual, or Av.

With my Fuji S5000, I use the "A" mode. I've been experimenting with the different modes on my camera to prepare myself for the upgrade to a real DSLR.

In most cases, I have found the "A" mode to be my most used.
