I'm really curious to hear about the full frame 5D viewfinder view being smaller than K-7? K-7 is 100% but its still crop format smaller viewfinder to begin with.
I've got a couple 5D. I won't add a K-7 for another 9 months, only when its $700-$800. I have no interest in paying $1,299. I want to know how good it is, once its actually released to public, how it compares to peoples K20D which I own. So buy both, buy lenses for both and tell us what you think as I am in no hurry to see first hand and pay launch price premium for a looky~see.
By the way I've got about 15,000 images taken with 2 5D and I've yet to clean my sensors, once, other than using a rocket blower with mount pointed down. And thats with 2 people carefully & thoughtfully changing lenses out. At night with some wine inhand after every day we shoot I inspect lenses and cameras and wipe clean or blow as needed. Along this incamera sensor cleaning function , I've yet to use it on my D700. I've yet to use this function on K20D... But I keep my gears , rear lens elements clean to begin with. I Wouldn't consider changing a lens in a duststorm an option.
I assume 5D will have better Image Quality. Thats the neat thing about 5D, its a really good consumer grade full frame camera that still competes image quality wise quite well with today's better dslrs still. Look at this handy multibrand comparision for lowlight performance & do remember 5D is going on 4 years old now: August 2005 launch.
5D blows out K20D. My D700 blows out everthing else, according to the handy chart. Why not add a D700 to your shopping list?

5D might have lower noise, but it has too many flaws: dustprone, smaller viewfinder, no video, not Live View, ....
K7 has too many strengths except it has a higher noise.
Which is better?
