K200D shake reduction turned itself off

Yesterday shooting in AV mode with Tamron 18-250 AF lens, everything was working fine. This morning, suddenly the shake reduction icon was dimmed and would not come on in any setting. I turned off and on, dismounted and remounted lens, nothing worked until I did "reset" all in the menu. So, problem is fixed (except it may take me awhile to figure out whatall settings I have changed so I can put them back) but I am wondering what caused it. Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks

Debi

I´ve had no problems. The K200D will automatically deactivate the SR under certain circumstances, such as when the timer is activated. There´s a full list somewhere in the manual.

Debi, I had the same problem with my K100D Super. No matter what lens I mounted, including a SMC-A 50, I couldn't set the SR until I finally did a reset. Works fine now.

K10D manual says

In my K10D manual, page 68
QuoteQuote:
The Shake Reduction Function automatically turns off in the following situations
When using Self Timer, 2 sec. self timer, Remote control shooting, 3 sec delay shooting, bulb shooting or wireless mode with an external flash.
