Damn Brit

I tend to keep away from higher ISOs but I took this at 3200 this evening. Minor colour adjustment in PP.

I've posted iso3200 and 9600, but obviously will try to stay away form those high iso as much a spossible, but for now, I will set my auto iso to iso2000. I had it to iso 400 with my K10D.

A shot at iso 2000, I think this is truly useable. Shot RAW opened in LR2.4 and NR and PP with noiseware pro and CS2.

Excellent pic as usual, pcarfan! Goes to show that in the right situation, there's a place for any ISO

Thank you. It is absolutely useful. I had to have the shutter at 1/120 to freeze motion as this guy was going in circles....I am happy with a lot of the ones in motion, but not worthy of posting to show high iso capability (may be I will....who cares), but here the critter paused for a second, so it is tack sharp.

These were shot tonight @ f2.8 on a DA40ltd in RAW. No NR in PP and only minor tweaking of saturation, clairty etc.

Any guesses to what this is?

jgredline:I had the 17-50 Tamron version and it did not compare to the 17-35 in quality or focus speed.
I am happy with the 17-50--AF & IQ. It is the added reach of that 28-75 which is alluring. However, if I try a copy of a 17-35 which makes me as happy as yours does--who knows.

I have not been online much of late, but just took a few minutes. Apparently this 17-35 is readily available & it looks to be a relatively recent release. Do you know if it was designed after the 17-50?

There are some terrific photos in this thread - but this shot of the lemurs is one of the best shots in the forum. I used to shoot a fair bit at the zoo (daughter #2 was a zoo keeper for 2 years) but I'd be quite proud to have taken this shot.

And ISO 4000??? Wow.

ISO 2000 Daddy Coon

K20D F50 1.7 lens@ f2.5 1/30 Handheld with SR -Light from nearby porchlight.

Printed at 12x18 it looks much better than on this screen. Detail is very good and noise is not noticeable.
