Anything greater than ISO 400 is considered high ISO to me....

Random shots doing a test at ISO 3200 on the K7. These were hand held.

Yes, 3200 on the K7.

Just wanted to see if it was as bad as everyone says it is as far as noise and IQ. I was quite surprised. With some improvement on technique and a little PP, it can be useful.

Shot in RAW, processed in LR, Exported to JPEG, upped to Flickr.

I just got my K-x two months ago. It's my first SLR, and its predecessor as my primary camera is my cell phone. I quickly found that the kit lens is not good at indoor/low-light photography so I got myself a Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 lens on Ebay. Huge improvement. Here's a photo from The Boxer Rebellion show on 9/21. I thought I had used 1600 ISO, but the EXIF says otherwise. The lens doesn't convey aperture info to the camera, but I had it set to 2 or 2.8 the whole night. I tried 1.4 for fun, but couldn't focus on a darned thing (no surprise there).

A shot from a bandmember having some food before the performance would start. I played a little with the light, so it's not flash but a led light. At iso3200 with K-7.
