Thanks for comments. It just looks bigger because it's pretty heavily cropped. For general post processing I use Lightroom, and for noise reduction use Dfine, which is a separate plug-in. Works pretty seamlessly with Lightroom

Man I see barely any noise in that, how does it look a bit bigger and what program do you use for noise? Amazing shot btw.

K100D Super Panoramic

After several years, I'm still very happy with the performance of my K100D Super. It works well at ISO1600. Here is a panorama of the audience at our church Christmas program, shot with K100D Super, ISO1600, 1/15 second, kit lens at 18mm, two-image stitch with Microsoft ICE.

Well, it has been a while but here goes. K20D all ISO 3200 pretty much all in camera processing except for the crops.
K20D set to vibrant with max noise reduction applied. It did kill some detail, but all n all ok for out of the box.

ISO 1600 on a K200D

John

Good Black and White. I often switch to B&W at high ISO when the grain gets to be a problem with the colours. Excellent trick, often with good results.

Hey KOog, Great shot! What white balance did you use? I did a ton of church basement photos with my 100D and they were terrible. (my daughters "stag & doe, on Ontario thing..)

Jarvier, you sure do have this high ISO thing down pat--ISO 3200 looking great on the K20 btw. The shot of the girl, sandwiched between the 2 pink columns, with the subtle pink on her shoes, is awesome if you ask me!!!

On a funny note, the woman with the Canon DSLR looks like she is literally trying to shoot your Pentax out of your hands, early on in this series of posting. Keep'em coming bro.

Designosophy: I like the use of the 2 light sources & that Viv, of which I know nothing, is looking good wide open.

Thanks, Jewelltrail. Overall, it's a decent varifocal.. Referred to as "the stovepipe," it's heavy, sturdy, bright, and contrasty, and it's got 1:2 close focus capability. It's a bit soft at f/2.8, but sometimes I like the effect. It also has some CA at 28mm. I got it for about $60 on ebay because I wanted something more versatile than my JC Penney 28mm f/2.8.

From my K200D - it's not close to the newer sensors, but I still think that it can produce some great pictures at ISO 1600

(no noise reduction)
