Nice... I bet he still rocks! When I lived in Philly, I use to see lots of shows at Glenside! I think the last one was Susan Tedeschi and BB King...

I think it's damned near miraculous, even as a smaller image. And the grain looks very filmlike too!
Great shot
Thanks John. It blew me away when I first saw what the K-5 could do. It still blows me away. The technology is amazing.

Thanks.
He did rock. The opening acts, Michael Williams Band and Indigenous, were also fantastic. More pics here: Keswick, 11/16/11 - a set on Flickr

Taken with ISO3200 the Sigma 70-200 2,8 on a K-7 under very very tough conditions. Postprocesing in with the Pentax bundle program and most of the remaining noise and lack of detail is not because of the ISO, it's due to the image-killing plexiglass.

What can I say....

She loves the camera!

What really amazes me is how far camera sensitivity will go to keep a decent shutter. And of course what's needed to gather motion free shots. At any rate, this was taken at f2.8 and the light wasn't anything spectacular. Yet it took ISO10000 to get there.

Just spent way too much time browsing this thread! I've always been afraid to push past 3200, but the pics you guys are posting here are giving me the courage to experiment with ridiculously high ISOs.

A few I took at an All Hallows event put on by the Ohio Historical Society, with the K-7 and a 50mm 1.4 prime. Night event with lots of dark buildings and tents lit only by candlelight. First time I really played with ISOs higher than 800.

How does the K-5 and the K-x compare for higher iso shots? I'm always scared to go too high on my K-x.
