Thanks! Actually, it's difficult in some ways, easier in others. Much easier to focus an MF lens manually that to focus an AF lens manually, so for the many situations where AF can't be relied on to focus on the performer rather than an instrument or some other object, or when it won't focus fast enough, an MF lens is preferable. Also tracking motion is easier with an MF lens. And of course, trying getting an AF telephoto lens that is f/2.8 or better for less than $100... nothing easy about that! And if you're shooting anything slower than f/2.8, that's definitely making the job far harder.
