Both a little pushed. First one is equivalent (after fill light and exposure adjustment) to ISO 5000, and the second one is equivalent to ISO 12800.
Don't be afraid to use high ISO! Go Pentax

K10d @ iso1250

K10D + Super Takumar 35/3.5

@ ISO1250 Not that high until you take into account K10 max's out at 1600 and is known to be a "poor" high ISO performer. This is an extremely tight crop, PP JPEG no NR and camera NR turned off

Excellent job everyone. Who would have thought a couple of years ago that we would be getting such great shots from Pentax at high ISO. Even older cameras like the K10 and my K200D are doing well.

First day with my K-X

Spent part of the day playing with the camera at the new Cleveland Aquarium. On the way home through the flats took this from inside the car, handheld. Felt like sharing.

ISO: 3200

Late afternoon on a grey, gloomy day. My son actually enjoys this, I cringe every time he's up in the air, as a good father should of course. Only way to get both him and the horse perfectly sharp in midair was to use a fast shutter speed and reasonable aperture to guarantee good DOF. This pushed the ISO in TAv to 10000!

The camera-jpeg already looked ok but I managed to squeeze more detail and less noise by converting the PEF (Ufraw) into TIFF and running it through NeatImage.

Lots of nice high ISO shots. Here are a few from a concert a few weeks ago (all at ISO 1600 with a K200D). B&W helps a lot here; for the color shot I deliberately chose to push color rather than limiting noise (the original was mostly red).

K200D + S-M-C Takumar 105 f/2.8@f/2.8, ISO 1600

K200D + Super Takumar 35 f/3.5@f/3.5, ISO 1600

K-5 in a (dark) museum

Koldinghus was an old Danish fortress and later became a royal residence that was severely damaged by fire in 1808 during the Napolean wars. Some 180 years later it was protected using modern architecture and materials and it is a fascinating, but demanding photographic place: Rooms are large and mostly very dark, but with large and constantly changing dynamic ranges. Flash is of no use is so large rooms (and generally not well seen in a museum) so I put my faith in K-5 and Auto ISO and got, amongst others these:

ISO 3200

ISO 2000

ISO 3200

ISO 1250
