Honest opinions of 1600 and greater iso settings???

Coming from the K200D, I was surprised that the K20D looked a bit noisier but was at the point of realizing that I was underexposing (user error) far too often as a means to recover shutterspeed in low light situations which in turn exasperated the noise.

I made the same mistake in the shot of the cockatiels I posted in the high iso gallery and had to push it up afterwards in photoshop. You can see alot of noise in the shadow areas.

I think the "exposing to the right" technique alot of members here recommend definitely has alot of merit as you reduce noise by quite a fair margin.

3 years into the hobby and you still learn something new everyday.
