In case you missed it when falconeye mentioned, a few posts back, that it was posted in this thread that Pentax publicly acknowledged they are aware of the issue and are working to solve it.

Maybe the response you received contained more detail?

Disagree...paying full MSRP/RRP and having to experience multiple returns until one receives a body that has not been acknowledged by Pentax to have the issue resolved is far from a non-issue for me. But everyone is different...as long as it does not interfere with one's fun, who cares, right?

ummm...I dunna understand? I was commenting that is not acceptable to be charged any price, full boat MSRP/RRP or even a discounted price if there is no direct statement from Pentax that the currently shipping bodies are from production runs using defect free components for this problems in evidence.

So, I am not sure where shipping works into it...I might have implied it earlier but no matter I agree the whole shipping thing can add up quickly too. Though does not Amazon pay for return shipping ia a printable PDF label? I do the same for our customers if they need a return it happens to us all now and then )...I email them a prepaid label in PDF form.

did quite a few movie clips today and sure enough photos show green line now.
to be specific i get two lines one little bit stronger then the other.
considering we are in a middle of winter right now this is very bad news.
last thing i need is to worry about holidays photos turning out ruined this year......

i would love to hear what they plan to do.
right now i'm not very happy.

From Seattle Tour Session

The question of the mysterious "Green Line" was posed to the Pentax team. The answer was "This has been corrected with Firmware Version 1.01. I cannot verify this, but what FW version are you using?

I read otherwise here in pentaxforums. Its buried in a thread...

Hunt around all the forums here, & somewhere I recall the green line remains after the K-7 firmware is upgraded. Find the post, ask the owner and get that info firsthand from the affected K-7 owner. If i remember right the K-7 owner posted right after the firmware became available.

Its nice to know pentax thinks the greenline syndrome in K-7 has been fixed. Thats a start, they recognize there 's a problem with some K-7. I wonder why Pentax is quiet about what the upgrades in firmware upgrade are addressing?

Unless I missed it, Anybody got an official pentax-usa link concerning K-7 firmware upgrade fixes or improves ???

Unless I missed it, Anybody got an official pentax-usa link acknowledging K-7 Vertical Green Line Syndrome ???

I'm sure no one (important) at Pentax thinks that.
God knows why someone issued the information that firmware 1.01 contained a fix, it obviously was not true.

I wasn't introduced, perhaps someone who was can help confirm, but I believe it was first stated by Mr. Ned Bunnell and confirmed by two of his assistants including Dr. Mark Dimalanta. I did not ask the question, but was present for the answer, which was greeted with sighs from the attendees.
