K-7 lens-correction delay -- non-interrupting!

I was a bit concerned when I learned that the in-camera lens correction features introduce a several-second delay. But I got my K-7 today, and was pleased to discover that while this delay blocks "chimping" you can't play back your images you can go on shooting all you like. Actually taking pictures isn't blocked at all.

I remember somewhere reading it may slow down frame rate.

It creates a processing bottleneck and stops the camera from shooting more than 5 frames in a burst. After that, it acts like as if the buffer is full.
