I tried the K7 with my tokina 500mm mirror lens. I was actually able to shoot handheld at iso200 f8 and get decent results. I could not do this with the K20D (very shaky hands). The white balance and color rendition is so much better. these are right out of the camera, no pp

Yes, it is very very useful in obtaining good focus in low light conditions, I would have upgraded for this alone.
