Too be quite honest I just can't see a "groundbreaking" improvement over my K10D 1600 iso shots with a teeny amount of NR done.
FWIW, the K10D had too much noise for me above ISO400. On the K20D, I'll let it run indoors at up to ISO1000 w/o the noise bugging me, and the noise is a lot cleaner at high ISOs than the K10D. Are you comparing web size photos or full size images?

As you can see I am a faithful Pentax user and I can also testify to the excellent results I can acheive.

I just believe the Nikon & Canon flash (TTL/PTL) is more reliable & results dependable than the Pentax for intensive wedding work - incidentally I made a living out of wedding photography for many years with film (a little bit harder than digital;-) ) but then I used a Contax, Zeiss Distagon lenses and Metz 60

The "noise issue" was groundbreaking for me as I can get exemplary A4 prints from ISO 1600

My friend has a Canon 450D and we took both took an identical iso 1600 shot in a ski hut and we compared on a 17 inch monitor and he was yapping how much better his shot (noise wise)would be and to his utmost surprise & mine it wasn't - so I apologize if I don't find it a problem using the K10D at ISO1600 which for me (as I said above) cleans up nicely with little loss of detail using Noiseware on its lowest setting.
