Inside the K-7 box there is also another cash back card - with different rates for lens etc.

I got $85 back for my 55-300 and AF540 lamp.

That's nice if you don't have the cash to buy multiple lenses when you buy the K-7 body or kit you can still get a bit of savings with a future purchase. Because when you buy them at the same time the mail-in rebate is $100/lens.

Then again I do not have a great track record getting mail-in rebates. A couple years back was the last time I counted on a mail-in rebate, that was when San Disk has HUGE rebates on their CF cards and I had $160 coming back, and even though I did everything right, the application was reported as not being complete...these rebate fulfillment companies are just corrupt and use a lot of home based & off-shored people to process the forms. It is in their interest to, as a matter of practice, deny even just 2 or 3 out of 10 rebate forms figuring most people won't follow up...for me if the rebate is so good then it can be given to me by the retailer at the register, if not I will find the cheapest other source rather than deal with a mail-in rebate.

Bing cashback is down to 8% or less.

Too bad. I absolutely would have bought the kit at that price...

What's the next best deal? Amazon? They've got the kit for $1,115 - $100 rebate = $1,015 shipped.
(Plus 3% back ($30) in Amazon rewards if you have an Amazon Visa.)

I may have to bite soon.
Don't really want the kit lens since I mostly shoot with primes, but it would probably be better than the kit zoom I got with my K10D...

The best deal I could find is at Adorama via Bing: Pentax K-7 + 18-55WR: $1114.95 - 3%CB - $100 rebate = 981.5

I woke up on Monday and found the K-7 w/ WR kit in my Amazon Gold Box for $1059. After rebate, $959. I sold the kit lens for $130 and now I'm down to $829 for the body. Oregon has no sales tax and Amazon charged no shipping.

I think I did pretty well. I know that this deal isn't available to everybody, and I was very lucky. As time progresses people will be able to do better. But I search Amazon for "Pentax" pretty much once a week, and they keep putting Pentax in my Gold Box, so you can do a little to help yourself get lucky too.

Checked amazon today...

K-7 kit is $1154 (-100 rebate = 1054.00)
K-7 body only is $1054.

No difference.

Hoping it comes down this week...

Yeah, Amazon just raised the price from from $1,114.95 to $1,154.89 yesterday.

I was just getting ready to buy it this weekend, but I'm not going to now that they raised the price.

It seems like Amazon is really shooting themselves in the foot with their new pricing policy, especially now that there are so many sites that track Amazon's pricing.

Dunno how long the program will go on, but Amazon is trying to get folks to signup for their PayPhrase thing. Gets ya 5% cashback on camera gear from what i can see.

here is the PF thread I started for the deal:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/83016-save-5%25-ca...payphrase.html

In there are links to the info page for the PayPhrase promo...seems like an OK deal to me. Then again I get instant cashback on Bing.com so I would prolly use them when the times comes for me to buy.

The problem with the 5% cashback thing is that Amazon just jacked their price up about 5%, so you end up being dead even.
