Pentax K7 Price Watch? Or I am waiting because I am a cheap, errr, frugal SOB thread

Found decent price on the K-7 in the Amazon Warehouse. Used open box stuff but still it's over $100 savings. See the OP or here is the link:

Expect big K-7 price drops in the next couple of weeks.

How do I know?

I have bought K-7 last Friday. It can't be that price won't drop drastically in the nearest future. It always happens to me...

it was $1149 a few weeks ago at amazon. then it shot back up to $1249, then to $1299, now it's at $1199.

at this rate, it could very well be at $1k by christmas.
okay. now to sell some lenses to fund this new baby

I am pretty sure your typed that bassakwards...yeah?

But thanks for the info on their fluctuations. I supposed Amazon has been doing this sort of stuff for a while now as a way to induce buyer anxiety...which is a huge factor in people these days.

He's right, I observed the exact same thing and was surprised to see a seperate thread for the 1199 price at amazon.

I'm waiting til xmas before even thinking about buying a k-7.

I may be ordering a K-7 this weekend... I would go with Amazon due to their price guarantee (it saved me an extra $150 when I bought my K20D!) but they charge tax to NYS customers.

Ahhh, I didn't realize that (or, more likely, I totally forgot.) I guess that helps me feel better about not ordering from them!

I know they're suing NYS to not have to pay tax there any longer, hopefully they will succeed with that; it definitely makes Amazon less attractive to buy from. In this case, though, NewEgg is definitely cheaper even forgetting the tax, and they tend to ship faster.

When I was at the road show last month I was told by a pentax sales guy that "October will be a great time to buy a K7 *wink*"

Take that however you want to. I've got my money set aside. We'll see what happens in october.
