May be it'll be useful in later stage.
Today I am still performing this project almost alone without any help.
May be it'll be ceased soon due to simple fact that it require team to be succesfull.

Got some progress on shooting parameters tracking.
They are stored inside big structure and referenced by offsets from start of this structure.
Looking on REALOS functions also.

Hey TR13,

Thanks for the good work!!
I'm watching with interest. Just spent a few hours just now looking thru K10D FW1.3 so see whether I can offer any help. Tried the vlens_ctrl command in K10D, but can't seems to find anything new in the menu. maybe that command should live in sysparam.txt?

Anyway, do you think there is a hidden command for us to enable ISO 50 and ISO 3200 for K10D? Since it has all the number as well as the alert message for ISO 3200.

with regards to AF adjustment on the km/k2000, how much (max) can you adjust?
it seems like you can add +/- 120 and it goes on and on.
but realistically, what's the max?

thanks!

great job btw,

jordan

I found this statement by an unknown Japanese source:

他社のデジイチは全て富士通Milbeaut M-4(MB91680)です。 All other companies are Fujitsu Dejiichi Milbeaut M-4 (MB91680) is. (K10D,K20Dも含む) (K10D, K20D, including)
でもね、K-7は富士通Milbeaut M-5なんですよ! But you know, K-7 is Fujitsu Milbeaut M-5 and I I! ! ! ! ! これ業界では有名な話よ。 This is a famous story in the industry.
Is the K-7 really more powerful than other dSLRs? I am wondering who else is using Fujitsu processors at all?

Eventually, it seems that the Milbeaut M-5 designation is MB91720. But there is no further information on the internet ... Nothing. Like it is a secret product.

Good find Falk,

Not only has he programmed the MB91720, but it appears he did it whilst working for Samsung!

It says on his cv "Samsung Digital Imaging, Suwon, Korea (12/2005 - 04/2009)"

TR13, I can only praise the work that you and others have already done and encourage you to keep trying, despite the problems! I wish I could do something, but being a mechanical engineer my computer skills end at using software as tools!

tr13 was watching for help, esp. with regard to FR programming.

I found this Korean guy in San Diego, maybe he can provide further contacts?

Currently I am slowly working on tools and scripts. As we need them before anything useful can be made. As I already told you I found references to shooting info structure, but it requires more complete disassembly to understand whole logic (normally firmware have few of similar structures, one is original and other are made bu copying fields). Finding structure references will be very hard due to address.

Here is some illustration of progress:

1) Primer of offset table usage to call functions. This is very interesting part, as it allows to dump vram.
2) Second part shows part of shooting speed related procedure, here you can find how big structure is used. I believe that at 0x68 we have mode wheel position .

Seems like there is a new v1.01 firmware for k7...
A new v1.01???

The OP downloaded the firmware again after being told to by Pentax (already had v1.01 on his K7), and the firmware version in the exif changed from 1.01.00.05 to 1.01.00.09...

tr13 : I'm back from holidays, so I can spend some time trying to help you on the disassembler (I'm a C/C++ programmer, so maybe I could be of help)...

Could you tell me what you would need now?
