Still charging the battery, but I've already gone through the manual online over the weekend, so I'm pretty familiar with the controls. Besides, I'm been using an IstDs2 for a few years now. Looks like a fine camera to me. I'm going to be doing a lot of actions shots of athletic events, indoors dance recitals where flash is prohibited, etc.

Went outside and did a few test shots, using a 28-80 Pentax lens; tested inside with Quantaray 9000 series flash, and it works great. Using the module that sets the aperture @ one of three settings. Will try with the autofocus module that uses a red beam for autofocus assisting, but doesn't give any latitude for aperture settings.

Congrats on the purchase - a fine setup you're going to have for all your action shots!
Just wait on your Sigma - it'll show you what a fast lens can do...

Local newspaper guy (small town) let me borrow his Canon 30D with a Canon 2.8 70-200 lens to photograph a h.s. basketball game. I'm pretty much sold on the 2.8 long zoom lenses. Ordered from Adorama yesterday, but haven't received an e-mail confirmation from them yet. When I ordered from them through Amazon, I got an immediate confirming e-mail.
