AF accuracy: k-7 vs k20D

Hi All,

Much discussion here on K-7 AF speed and improved accuracy in low light conditions. My issue, my K20D has been back to service twice, for AF accuracy problems. Seems OK now, but is K-7 worth the price to get WHAT % improvement or % keepers under ordinary conditions?

Thanks for all replies.

In low-light (not really dark) I found the K-7 will lock focus with good accuracy and reasonable speed (less than 1 sec) where the K20D will focus-hunt a few seconds or just give up. I'd consider that a 100% improvement.

In really dim light (semi-darkness) the K-7's AF-assist light will kick in and focus lock with reasonable accuracy (maybe 80% keepers) where the K20D would just totally give up (you'd be looking trying to do manual focus in semi-darkness - maybe 10% keepers). That's a pretty massive improvement.
