Hi - just to close the thread. Adorama accepted the return graciously and sent a new unit immediately. It arrived yesterday evening, and I have not played a lot with it. But, the fatal problem does not exhibit itself nor is anything problematic or otherwise apparent - obviously preliminary assessment. I have A LOT to learn about this machine, but right now I am appreciative of those who provided advice and insight. I will continue to lurk and hopefully learn. What a great resource this is. Thanks all.
