Something Pentax could - and should - do to answer such a question

Make a high quality FF dSLR with a good MP count AND good noise characteristics, using technology like the new SONY chip coming out (puts wiring behind the light gathering, which not only decreases noise by a LOT but probably substantially does away with the supposed "need" for "telecentric" lenses - Handycam | “Exmor R” CMOS Sensor), and include a NON-CRIPPLED K-Mount that provides FULL backward compatibility with ALL old PK mount glass.

Sure, I'd buy it - and already have lenses for it!

The K20D alone is already 2 levels above the K100, IMHO. Great camera that can be acquired at a great price now that the K-7 is out.

Have a look at this thread to see a user with a similar dilemma; we ended up talking him out of it: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/everything-else/68707-talk-me-out.html
I totally agree with Mr.Adam. The K20D is an exponential leap in advance of what you have right now. Where the K-7 is NOT a massive improvement over the K20D. In fact, I would bet my Left "!!" that if I were to print two images from both the K-7 and the K20D you would not know which was done with what.

Perhaps and I say perhaps the K-7 focuses a bit faster and perhaps the K-7 is a tad noisier than the K20D in the shadow detail, but other than the Video which is a radical departure from the K20D, I would most definitely opt to keep your Pentax glass and get the K20D and the battery grip.
