Old K mount lenses not working

On my new K20D i can fit my old K mount lenses, look through the view finder and focus, but i cannot seem to be able to take a picture, it simply does nothing when i press the shutter release button?

Any ideas?

Do you have AF-S on? If I remember correctly on my K100D the Shutter will not fire in AF-S unless the subject on the center focus point is in focus.

Its not a bug....

its a feature called trap-focus.

you can (with careful setup) use AF-S and manual lenses to focus on where your subject *wwill* be when you want the picture. Then when the subject comes into focus.... CLICK you have your image.

Two things:
  • As mentioned above, you either need to be in focus or have AF-S turned off
  • Unless the lens has "A" contacts on the mount, you will need to configure your setup to enable use of the aperture ring

See your manual for how to do the second point...
