While I agree with Pdxbmw, you should be aware that the k10 has serious metering errors with manual aperture lenses.
All I have are manual lenses. I have only had one lens give me a little bit of metering issues, the 150mm F4 Takumar. Everything else is cool. I even get ISO 1600 night shots that are great with the K10d.

Welll I ordered the K100D then the store called and didn't really have it (hadn't updated their website, low stock..yada yada yada....) They wanted to sell me the K110D but nope..I really wanted the SR...so I found the K100D Super someplace else for less! So I have a Super but wouldn't have paid more for it....

I have had my K10D for about 2 years now and have had no problems. I have several lenses from Pentax DA's, Sigmas, and Pentax M's and Takumars and get good results with all. The metering is a little different on a couple of the older lenses but it is very easy to adjust for. The Shake Reduction works very well and the weather sealing is a big plus also.

If you can get a crazy/good deal on either of the K100D's it can be well worth it.
I got my Super at close out at Wolf Camera for under 200$, body-only.
Since I had the lenses already from my late 100d I was all set.
It makes a inexpensive way to determine if you like DSLR's work general and Pentax's specifically.
You save enough getting one that you can afford the K7, 20, 200 later.
If you feel the need that is; the 100's give outstanding IQ and value.

I love my K100D super and you will too!
In any case, whatever you choose, you will have plenty of available lenses to choose from and experiment..most of them very affordable.

I have both a k10 and a k100 at my disposal. I have done reasonably controled tests using a tripod indors under controled lighting. I tested both a Vivitar series 1 70-210 screw mount and a Sears 135mm f2.8. With both lenses the k100's metering was far more consistant than the k10. While some people have very good luck with manual lenses on the k10 there are many people on this forum that have issues with it's metering. Furthermore the k10's focus screen has that stupid coating on it which gives a false DOF on fast lenses, which can lead to focus errors with mf lenses.
