Now I just need to find one that is cheap enough for me to afford.
You could ask someone to donate it.

A loan would be better. That would save him the trouble of selling it a week later.

I have to wonder what the camera referenced in his signature line is, since it is not an EP-1 as we all thought.

It's an *ist DS, I believe. Why do you want a more pro spec body anyway? Other than AF issues I don't have a problem with my K100D whatsoever (same sensor), and my potential clients (no real clients yet!) seem happy with its results.

Damn Brit loaned me the money to buy an *ist DS this summer. That's what I've been using. I want to upgrade because even though it's a great camera it can be very limiting.

Invest in the glass then you'll be committed to the system. Then it won't matter if you keep changing the camera. Economics will force you to conquer your obsessiveness and indecision.

I suppose anyone wanting a camera for free would be glad to get any of those. But it only takes one example to disprove a hypothesis, and I think we already have one.

Besides you had a 20D. Getting another would be like getting back together with an old girlfriend. At first you think, "why did I ever leave?", then after a little while you remember, and break up again.

Beside the K10D has sensor SR. You can get Russian lenses and STILL have SR.

Jupiter 9, Helios 44, Industar 50 f3.5....

Or Takumars with SR...
LOL that's never a good idea So far I don't have any regrets about selling stuff...

Now don't go on confusing the poor fellow with lenses!

What qualifies as cheap enough?

He might be weighing the pros and cons of that too!
Even on his list you can see that the 20D had more cons than the K10D but he still said he was confused and everything seems to be the same.

..but stop it already, he already made up his mind as to what to get..hmmm..now if he only can figure out what is cheap enough for him to afford as this might be relative.

Yes, that got me confused too as he kept on saying that the 20D had a rear wheel and I know that the K10D has a front AND a rear wheel at that.
This would mean that on the list for the 20D "pro", he has to strike out as a "pro" the 20D rear wheel.

The cheapest new K10 I know of is a refurbished one at Best buy: PENTAX - Factory-Refurbished 10.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Black - K10D. I love the K10. It's Iso 100 is probably the cleanest among cameras out there. That said, I would encourage you to learn the camera and work with it, rather than constantly thinking about how your photos would turn out better with a different make or lens. If you don't believe that the K10 is adequate to take good photos, do a search for photos taken with it on PPG. Definitely some amazing stuff there.

The weak link in most of my photos is not the camera, it is me, but over time, I am learning and getting better. Understand that, before you switch systems in the future.
