K7 and 70 combo?

Anyone shooting this combination? I have to admit I wasn't crazy about how my 77 rendered on the K7 and my gut says that the DA ltd primes are better mated to the new body. I'm still searching for the "right" small street/travel setup.

I've been using that combo for a little while. Here are a couple of samples (no street though, sorry).

Hope this helps!

ps - as to your DA Ltd. theory on the K-7, I am very happy so far with the 21/35/70 combo on this camera

That's a very nice landscape shot.

A bit unusual application of what's marketed as a Portrait prime lens.
Anyway its a very sharp lens, and it should do well in all kinds of situations.

Great combination, although I haven't been using my 70 much lately. If the focal length will serve you well, it'll be a fantastic combo for you, nostatic!

The K-7 seems very well mated to all the DA Limiteds (well, the three that I have in my possession, anyway). The K-7 and the 70 is a beautiful thing.

I frankly did not get good results with the 77 and K7. 31 and 43 were better behaved. I never did figure out what the issue was (washed/blown images) as the 77 is absolute magic on my K20d.

hmmm...it seems that that DA LTDs are optimized much better with the K-7 compared to the FA LTDs. I could only assume that the DA 21 would really have nice results.

anyway, I believe that any premium Pentax glass, regardless whether if it's a LTD or not, could produce the same sharp results. both with superior optics but differ in build. other differences may be in color rendering, coatings and number of elements. but that doesn't mean that the others are inferior to it, or are they?

For those that were not lucky enough to be included in the K7 tour route, the statement above was the main theme of their presentation (at least in NYC). The K7 is optimized to use the DA Limited lenses. They said this several times.

21, 40, 70

A few samples from the mentioned lenses.

21mm

40mm

70mm

They are all a joy to use on the K-7. The most difficult thing is choosing which one to mount.

While I don't have the K7, without question the 21/40/70 are an incredible current release trio of lenses. I'm actually considering putting my silver 43mm up for sale, crazy as it sounds to fund the purchase of a new 40mm (currently borrowing one).

Beautiful photos.
I love nature shots with tele, maybe because I'm not good at it myself

I agree these are really nice shots, and maybe I am misunderstanding your statement, but do you consider 70mm to be tele?
