Worth a PVEA "PeeVee"...

...(Pentax Video Excellence Award) IMHO. Your friends deserve a ton of credit for putting up with the hassles and diversions all of this must have caused.

Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm off to Florence, Italy this Fall for a week and am toying with adding video as another arrow to pull from the imaging quiver.

May I ask if you might be willing to take a moment and share some technical notes (video software, ratio of raw recording time to finished video time, etc.), and/or lessons learned... tricks and tips)?

Ciao...

Hello from the Philippines!

Actually all this footage was not a bother to anyone during the trip, I just had to anticipate certain shots I may want to use and have the camera nearby

As for the technical stuff, hmm I have no idea how to explain the process. I'm a natural techie with a computer science degree so I just read up and tinker around with iMovie to learn, and then for the artsy stuff -> your eye in photography would help a lot and being aware of things that move as photos are still i.e. movement, zoom, blur, camera shake, panning

I took the footage from my camera, dumped the files into my Mac used and the software that came with it (iMovie). Choosing the right song(s) for the mood you want is pretty crucial too.

Really, if I could explain it, it'd be me just saying be honest and follow your eye and visual taste (if there's such a word). If you really like it, spend time and tinker with it. I don't think everyone is for making videos (I've still yet to see if this is just a little fling or some long lasting "relationship"), some people (like me) are perfectly content with watching videos.

Oh and listening to music a LOT helps.

Hope that helped

Diego

Fantastic work Soccerjoe5, again. Simply fun to watch and motivates me to try more with my K-7.. Your blog has been saved in my favorites and I look forward to enjoying more of your work. By the way, great group of friends you have there and your adventures will never be forgotten.

The more I see and hear about the ways people are using their 21mm. The more I want one.
