EXIF data - how to see it please?

Hello - obviously this is something that's embedded in images, and I'd like to know what some of the people posting in Flickr are using. How do you see this, please?

Thanks

I use Lightroom, and it displays some EXIF data.

The Pentax software (Pentax Digital Camera Utility) display some EXIF data also.

On Windows, I think Explorer display some of the values (at least for JPEG exported from Lightroom); On Mac, probably the same thing.

Firefox has a add-on that display EXIF data.

PhotoMe is a free app that goes into extreme Exif detail.

If you're trying to read flickr exif data it's hit or miss. FireFox Add-In called Exif Viewer by Alan Raskin version 1.51 is about as good as it'll get.

Yes, I use one called FxIF. Doesn't show as many items as some others seem to and does not show data from all pictures (perhaps there's none in those cases), but it's handy to use.

EDIT: for example RT1's avatar shows

Flickr generally strips the EXIF data out when you upload the data. It displays the data when you visit the picture in Flickr, but it's not available if you psot a direct link to a Flickr image here. That could account for the difficulty you seem to be implying you are having.

You're correct Marc. In order to view Exif on flickr the image usually has to have an "All Sizes" link where you can choose the largest image. That's about the only way I've been able to glean Exif.

The same applies to Picasa web albums - view the full size image to view EXIF data.

Cheers
