I just tried to add it to my cart again, earlier it showed the price drop. Now it's back up to 1279

Yeah, Amazon prices tend to bounce up and down on a lot of things. You can often find a good deal if you're persistent, but they disappear quickly, too. I think it's a product of a dynamic stock vs. demand analysis system. If they see too much inventory compared to purchases, the system adjusts the price to dump stock...then people jump on it, and they raise it back up because it's selling well. It can take some time to settle to an equilibrium.

That's my analysis based on absolutely nothing but chasing deals in the past. I honestly have no idea what goes on behind the scenes there.

I suspect that the price depends also on the number of views, and/or the number of saved in basket, wishlist etc...

They can measure demand with more than just sales.

Just by checking the prices over and over you are keeping the price high.

We all need to just pretend it doesnt exist until you have saved up the money
