The K10 and K20 appear to have been "game changers" for Pentax. At the current rate, I'm guessing the K7 will reach those numbers as well.
What i can't figure out, is why the Km and K2000 are so low. When the Km came out, there were reports of them selling out in Japan, and they had a popular following in the various Pentax forums. Could it be that Km owners don't spend as much time on forums as the owners of larger SLR cameras.

I think you are right. I think Km/K2000 brought a lot of new photographers (those who weren't into photography much) into Pentax, but the kind that visit forums like these are more particular about features, and have been into photography for a while, already have a K10/K20, and don't want to lose weathersealing/dials/etc.
I am new here because of the K2000, and I think quite a number of others are too, but probably stay in beginners forum or general photography, or just make posts with questions / search for answers (as I did in the beginning) instead of reading
