maybe im just confused with how this is supposed to work with AF lenses.


I thought this was supposed to work like MF lenses, where you start out of focus and manually start focusing until you get focus confirmation and the camera snaps a picture.

From what you are describing, it seems that with an AF lens, it will simply autofocus then take a picture like normal camera operation. How does catch in focus differ than simply holding the shutter button down without this option on?

Unfortunately, it not effect AF lenses that do not have a MF switch on the lens, short of shorting out the contacts:

Nope, it seems I was the one confused.

It only works with MF lenses and AF lenses with a AF/MF switch. AF lenses without the switch will not work.

ahhh.

i think i saw earlier that you said you used in on da70. i guess you mean da17-70mm (or you said that and i read it wrong) thats why i thought I was doing something wrong cause I was using it with my 21mm limited and totally baffled... haha
