I sure hope this is true! My k7 should be arriving at my door any hour now - I'll try my AF540 then. On my k10, I stopped trying to use PTTL a long time ago, but I always thought it was the fault of the flash, not the body. The consistency was terrible.

I can't wait to try this out.
You will not be disappointed

Can anyone confirm if the Sigma DG 500 Super will work on a K-7 without new firmware (for the flash, obviously)

I'd like to know that as well as I may get a K7 one day. Never had an exposure problem with my Sigma DG 500 Super and K100D. 0EV for direct, +0.5EV for bounce and it's right every time (well, 99%).

The only real problem is the focus assist light could do with being even brighter than it is for use with the not brilliant low light AF K100D. There's room in the flash for a laser I think, if only I had more time to play around with it ......

K7 and AF-540 is Great

I recent went to daytona and attended a concent at an ampitheatre that was about 40 feet tall and 65 feet wide. I was about 45 feet back in the crowd and the 540 with the K7 not only lit up the entire inside of the ampitheatre, but exposed the band perfectly with no motion artifacts and I was even bouncing the flash!

I attended the same venue a year ago using the K10D and a Sigma 530 Super and the results were either that the backgroud was lit and the band turned into shadows, or the nband was lit and the background was barely visable.

I am not regreting my K7 purchase at all.
