K10D Viewing Screen

Occasionally when I am viewing my shots on my K10D view screen and I'm either scrolling thru shots or trying to zoom in on a shot, the screen turns off. I turn it back on and try it again and it'll do the same thing. It doesn't do this all the time but I'd prefer if it never did it. Has anyone else had this problem?

It happens to me a lot. I blame it on my finger brushing the shutter release button which will cause the display to shut off. Try it purposely on your camera and see if that isn't what's causing your problem.

Then change the way you hold the camera while reviewing your photos...

Typically hold the camera by the grip as you would to shoot a picture. It's the safest way for me to hold the camera. Since I know what causes the problem, I try to avoid hovering my trigger finger over the shutter release button. At any rate, it's no big issue, nothing wrong with the camera, it's just a little inconvenience. A little attention to the cause takes care of the issue.

I'm just getting around to checking my posts on this site so my apologies for not responding sooner. Much obliged for the suggestions. I haven't tested these theories yet but they make sense and I hadn't even considered that as a possibility.

Thank you
