AmazingWatcher.Com

I wanted to buy Zhu Zhu pets from Amazon.com because they have free shipping on like, everything, but the only ones they had were being sold (at WAY marked up prices) by third parties. However I heard about Amazing Watcher.Com which is a free website that will “watch” items for you on Amazon and let you know when amazon has them in stock at regular retail price.

It's not the amazon

It's the other stores, amazon.com is so famous, other stores even second hand sellers can put their ads to amazon and sell it via amazon.com site. Amazon plays a hub site role in sales and amazon.com gets a commission from them in some extend.

Amazon.com used to be a hub site for finding old and rare books of used book sellers, then you purchased the old book from amazon but mailed to you by actual book holder store. Amazon implemented this method for every goods for making money after their profits went below way zero in coupla years before.

So every nuts price can be seen in amazon now, for instance if a silly used camera store sells K20D for a nuts price you can see them through amazon.

So amazon lets use it's name to other stores, to get a commission from them, that's the story..

I never understand why people can't separate the Amazon Marketplace from Amazon. Amazon's prices tend to be excellent. Of course, always check B and H and other reputable dealers before buying. At the same time, Amazon does not continue to carry discontinued products. The K20 has been discontinued and will not be carried by them again. However the Marketplace will often have old cameras on it, both new and used -- sometimes for exorbitant prices.

Currently you can buy a new *ist D on there Amazon.com: Pentax *ist DS 6.1MP Digital Camera with Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL Digital SLR Lens: Electronics for only 988 dollars. At the same time, when you look at it, you realize that is actually being sold by Wall Street Camera. Why anyone would pay so much for a out dated camera, I don't know, but perhaps there is someone who loves the tiny size of the *ist and doesn't want to move up. Then again, maybe they are just hoping for a sucker to happen by and scoop it up.
