Why no K7 kit (with 18-55 WR) in the US?

It seems that many parts of the world got the option of having this kit for a reasonable rate (about +$50 USD). I am not dying to own the 18-55WR, but would surely spend the extra $50 or so to have a cheap knock around WR lens with decent quality.

In case anyone is wondering, yes I am *close* to buying a K7. Nearly convinced myself to go for it (just need to rule out 1 or 2 other scenarios/options).

K7 + 18-55 lens at buydig.com & beach camera is $1299 vs $1129 without lens. I couldn't get the description to tell me which 18-55 lens it was.

Is it worth getting the kit lens with that sort of price gap? Only you can tell.
