I have a K10D and a KM. A buddy has a K200D, which similar to my two pentaxes I've never used.

He wants to shoot exclusively in Black and White. What's the process to set yp the K200D to do so ?

Are there any hints or other adjustments he should make to ensure great, contrasty B + W pictures ?

I recommend shooting in color (and if possible, RAW) and use a program like lightroom to make them come out exactly how you want them to with greyscale mix.

I agree - if you care about the results, shoot full color and do the conversion yourself. You get *far* more control than doing it in camera. But if he doesn't care about the quality of the results and just want to get some quickie B&W pictures, hit the Fn button, then OK, then right arrow until the mode reads BW, then OK.

I shoot B/W a least 50% of the time. Someone on this forum recommended this to me. I got it about 2 weeks ago. Wow it's really worth the investment if you like B/W. But the others are correct, the in camera B/W is very limited compared to shooting RAW and converting.
