There is actually a pretty good old vintage 55mm f1.2 Nikkor as well as a 50mm f1.2 lens out there.
but ther real gems are the 58mm f/1.2 noct-nikkors they fetch a premium price on flea-bay the 55 are somewhat more common to find but their performance isn't quite as good as the 58's. The current 50mm f/1.2 is only decent at wider apertures, to the best of my knowledge the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 it isn't a very good lens when it's stopped down it's performs best a wide open and when stopped down a little. However, The Pentax K 50mm f/1.2 can match the FA77 for resolution at f/4 and beyond.

K-x slaps the D3000 around... in the Nikon forum.

K-x or D3000?

Absolutely no contest, whatsoever.
Nikon appears to have put about as much effort into their current entry level
offering as they have been doing for a while with their Coolpix line.
I guess their marketing studies show that the "Nikon" name will sell cameras,
even with the absence of features and value relative to the competition.
