K20D: Loose/wobbly four-way controller button...

Just bought a new K20D and right out of the box noticed the four-way controller and "OK" button are a bit loose/wobbly.

Anyone have a similar issue or know if this is "normal"??

Thx.

My K20D OK button is loose/wobbly if wriggled but the four-way controller is quite firm, at least on my camera. ?????

It's normal that you can move it around a bit. It is not firmly fixed to the body, there is rubber plate under it to make it sealed against water and dust.

That's a hard one to quantify online...what is perceived as "loose" to one person is stiff to another and just right to yet another person. If you feel it's not right, retrun it for an exhange or find someone who has one and see how their's feels...or send it in for a check under your warranty.

good luck with that one...hope it's not a big deal...

I purchased two K20D in August and both have a loose feeling ,when moved side to side. I also notice that the most of the other control buttons have a little side movement. I was alarmed as well, so called Pentax Imaging. They stated that sideways movement of the external control buttons is normal. And in no way affects use or waterproofing.

Indeed hard to know just from a description, but there is some play with both the OK and 4-way controller - even other non-flushed buttons can be considered having similar play with them.
