k-x with quick shift lense?

would I be ok using quicl shift lenses on the k-x? I know there is a button you need to swith when manual to auto focus, but if I use a quick shift capable lense would I still need to flip the manul/auto focus switch every time?

btw im a newb with dslr so be gentle... lol

yes, you can use quick shift lenses - quick shift is part of the lens. You don't need to switch it to manual focus on the body to adjust focus.

On any lens without quick-shift, you need to switch it to manual focus because the focus ring will still be coupled to the body AF motor - which can damage the gears/motor. You can tell because there will be resistance when trying to move the focus ring vs no/much less resistance with a quick-shift lens or switching the body to MF.

thanks, this pretty much sold me on buying a k-x body only, and maybe getting the some da kit lenses verses the dal that comes with the k-x
