I don't know, I think maximum 1 stop advantage over the K-7, if that ???
I stand corrected. I tried some similar shots with the K-7 and I have to say, may be a two stop advantage. Obviously not the proper methodology , but this K-x is freaking unbelievable for high iso. K-7 with this sensor will be the perfect camera (and Pentax obviously knew of this when they were making the separate cameras )

If Pentax did release the K-7 in this sensor, it surely would be the ultimate APS-C camera and would definitely make Pentax shine and draw so much more people into this brand. Pentax must've known something since they did release the K-x in the same year as the K-7, they must've known about it; either it's just plain bad marketing or Sony just won't let them put this monster in the K-7 since there's the a500 and a550, and most importantly, their future.

Great photos in your PPG by the way.

That's really impressive! The noisiest pictures to me just have what looks like film grain in them, and not the red splotches my K10D was so fond of adding, so I don't consider them bad at ALL.

I may have just found my new backup camera...!
