Are all batteries created equal?

Yet another question to you knowledgeable folks on the K100d. Do different brands of Nimh batteries give better results in the camera? Also do you have to charge energizer batteries in an energizer charger or can you use another brand?

Thanks.

I've been using Duracell NiMh 2650's in my K100. I bought the 15 minute charger and batteries at WallyMart.

If the ratings on the batteries are equal, presumably they should last the same. But I haven't seen any official tests to prove it.

You can recharge any NiMh batteries in any brand NiMh charger- the charger won't know the difference!

The mAh varies from brand to brand, so be sure to select the set with the highest number.

Check out this thread for info on a nice brand: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/672-eneloops.html

Thanks all. This is the best photo forum on the net. I wish my D70 would hurry up and die so I could get the K100!! Although if it lasts a while longer I can get the 10...

Eneloops work well; unlike normal NiMh they retain their charge in camera for ages

I would think they all have different lengths of times of lasting.
I think the trick of it all is to try to find out which gives the best value.
not always does price tie in with performance, I would think

just an opinion

cheers
