K10D Iso setting when using Flash 540

I usually shoot in P mode with auto Iso set between 100-800 or 100-1600.

If I shoot with the flash 540 I get pictures taken with the max ISO setting allowed 800 or 1600 is it normal?

should the K10 software not "select" automatically either the lowest or in between iso?

looking forward your answers.

There is a previous thread about this. If I recall correctly, the camera in auto mode will try to adjust first to the natural light setting.

I usually shoot with the flash in manual mode, which by default does not have auto ISO.

you can also set user mode to be what you want for flash settings

That's correct.
It is nevertheless slightly annoying, because one can forget about this behaviour.
To prevent this I have chosen to shoot with flash in M only, where it either goes back to ISO 100 automatically, or I can set the desired ISO by hand.
