I really like the olive green body. That was the "safari" model when they used it on the K-m/K2000, right?

Will these Japanese K-x cameras have the Japanese language menus, or will they be in english?
Are you aware that all Pentax DSLRs have multiple language options for the menu display, which are user changeable?

The operating manual for Pentax cameras sold in Japan would be in Japanese but I believe that can be exchanged for the English version at the Pentax Forum in Shinjuku.
Multi-Language and yes default would be in Japanese, i've checked.
I also cannot speak/read Japanese

It's Camo! Or, at least, mono-camo! Desert Camo? Something like that.

Call it what you like mate, it's beige.

It might look good if you were in the Afrika Corps.

It does look military.

This is what mines supposed to look like:
I hope the silver is the same as the FA limiteds, or it wont be that great.

I never knew that.
Might try to see if I can get the English one for my K10, then.
Wonder if it has to be bought at the Pentax Forum for this to be the case...
When I bought my K10D in Japan the manual was obviously in Japanese but I rang pentax and they exchanged my Japanese model for an English one.

I have nothing to do with this guy, so ask him any questions directly.

It's interesting that there seems to be this sort of market developing for those colourful K-x's. I wonder what sort of demand he has had so far.

FYI only, caveat emptor etc etc.
So anyhow, I'm the one who put that ebay listing up. As I wrote, just for kicks, with the high yen and the K-x 100 colors selling at full list price, anyone ordering from out of the country is paying a huge premium for colored body. eBay fees, shipping, Paypal fees, and the US dollar at 90 yen (!?) ... I don't see this _market_ developing very far at all actually.

Which is a shame: I've had the chance to look over some in person at Bic Camera and while some are lets face it pretty ghastly, many others are really nice and distinctive. Yellow, orange, pink and, surprisingly, silver are good... but to answer one of the posts on this thread, no, it's probably not the best idea to use it with the silver LTDs as silver colored plastic and aluminum don't match up 100%.

I could do it off-ebay, save me $40, but the best price I could offer would still be $850 US for the kit (its not sold body only at present) ... not super attractive when you can get the same kit in black at amazon for $621.

Do you have any idea of the price is going to go down at all?

Apparently not the special orders. The regular ones are settling to about 56,000 yen at mapcamera and others, and 68,800 yen with 10% instore credit at Bic, the "100 colors" are still at 69,800 with 10% in store credit at Bic and a whopping 69,800 straight up from Pentax direct. The premium for the colored ones is growing as the price on the regular ones drops, even for Japan buyers.

My Orange K-x

If you search ebay for "orange" and "K-x" you should find the listing for the orange K-x which I've decided to sell. Listing is from $1, runs until Dec 6.

K-x available in 100 colours via an eBay store

Just FYI, now you can order a K-x in any of the 100 colours via this eBay store.
NEW PENTAX K-x Kx 12.4MP SLR DC (Body Only)*100 COLORS* - eBay (item 120498239143 end time Dec-26-09 00:16:28 PST)
Body only it seems.

Ordering via eBay and PayPal may make it easier for some folks interested in these rainbow K-x's to get ahold of one.

All these colors looks so cool. I didn't really need another dslr but seeing how cool the K-X looks I ordered the storm trooper white. Other then the excellent sensors in the K-X all these cool colors makes the K-X makes it a big hit.
