haha i just got my k-x today and very happy with the price.
i was planning to go to officeworks but managed to detour to the city where i came across jb hifi. spoke to the sales assistant there and advised her that officeworks can do $702 and she told me she can bring it as low as $700 & throw in a free 2gb normal sd card.

i got the k-x with 18-55mm kit lens and currently playing around with it now

thanks guys, without your help Im sure I would have paid $799 from ted's camera

I believe only the black is stocked at the moment, but if you go and ask I am pretty sure they will be able to order it in for you..

The way I look at it, if Harvey Norman also starts to stock the K-x, the K-x kit will drop to $650ish in no time. This is good news to all new and old pentaxians alike.

Yeah, at the moment the K-x is a killer deal, especially when you see it presented like JB Hifi does here:

Digital SLR - Digital Still, Video & SLR Cameras - JB Hi-Fi - Smashing Prices!

It's the cheapest SLR in their lineup, + with more megapickles + HD video too, which should make it stand out for the punters. (Although note they call it the 'Cr Kennedy 12.4MP Digital SLR' ).

It seems like the K-x is stealing the limelight from K-7.

Back when the days when K-10D and K100D are still new, the topics are always talking about K10D. How times change
K100d is *ist DS with SR. K10d was the new stuff.

K-7 is K20d with video and other nifty features. K-x is the new stuff (high ISO and AF)

I know I'm overly simplifying the K-7's powers... but I think many see it that way.

Well I was about to post here that the K-x is available from a pretty well known (and not for all the right reasons) camera store ikn Perth who also allow you to buy online are selling the Twin Lens Kit (with the DA 50-200! not DAL) for $862.54 but alas someone must have realised after I got mine today that the online price was wrong and has now been changed on their website to $962.54......someone pressed the 8 and not the 9!

But anyway even at $960 its not too bad for a locally available K-x twin kit in Black or White.

BTW If yr in WA this store is in Cannington opposite carousel near McDonalds Im sure u all know who I'm talking about!

I don't suppose anyone knows if Officeworks or JB carry the Sigma 18-200? DCW are offering that with the K-x for $959, but I'd rather buy local.

JB is only stocking the Pentax 18-55 and Pentax 18-55/50-200 kits at the moment.. Though they may split a kit if you ask them to?

Good to see Pentax kits actually it has taken a while, used to be only Sigma 18-50 kits..
