K-7 successor?

Please Pentax bring out a K-7N with new low noise sensor.
The rest of the camera is great!

Well, except for the fact you can't shut off Dark Frame Subtraction for exposures longer than 30 seconds. Maybe Pentax could change that and add the new Sony sensor.

I doubt it, though coming from the d90 to the k7 I see little wrong with the sensor really, though I never shot with the d90 over 1600 either..

Disabling "Dark Frame Subtraction for exposures longer than 30 seconds" could easily be done in a firmware update if they wanted to...

Having shot and used both the D90 and K7 in terms of high ISO noise in raw, they are basically the same.

Use some PP and it's all good =)

People are just nitpicking about the high ISO noise, mostly out of body jpeg. Honestly I import all my raw files into Photoshop, go through the ones I want to keep, and discard the ones I don't. Click a button, and it'll automatically do all the NR I need for all the pictures.

Are there any cameras with APS-C CMOS sensors that allow disabling of dark frame subtraction? Seems like it is a CMOS versus CCD issue, but maybe over time they will get fewer hot pixels with long exposures.
