Eneloop Batteries for Pentax K-x (Australian Prices)

Hi All,

I thought I gather all the links and compare the prices here, so you wont have to.
I called Dicksmith & batteryworld (Battery World) and they are selling 4x AA for 30.95.

So, where you can get cheap Eneloop AA batteries in Australia

dealextreme ($USD12.61 works out 3.15/cell = $AUD4/cell) - DealExtreme: $12.61 Sanyo Eneloop 2000mAh Ni-MH Rechargeable AA Batteries (4-Pack)

online-shop.hk ($HKD 102 = $AUD14.15 works out 3.53/cell) -
Sanyo Eneloop Rechargeable Battery 4x AA HR-3UTG-4BP (2000mAh) [MJY00059] - HK$102.00 : OnlineShop Hong Kong!, Hong Kong Shop Online

dealextreme offers free shipping (i found their delivery is pretty average, not super fast) whilst online-shop.hk does not. So I think if you dont need the batteries urgently and wants to save few bucks then go with dealextreme.

hope this info is useful for those new pentax k-x owner like myself

www.thomas.distibuting.com: Rechargeable Batteries Battery Chargers Rechargeable Lithium Digital Camera Batteries Maha Ansmann Energizer Sanyo ZTS

Has Sony Eneloops & Maha Imedion (just as good as Eneloops, maybe better, see https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/camera-studio-accessories/76747-very-inte...tery-test.html ) for $9.97 USD for four. Also I can recommend the LaCrosse LC-BC-900 charger. It uses a switching power supply so you can run it off 240V, but you need to get the plug adapter (2-3 bucks). The postage is fairly large so put in a big order if you can, with 2 or more users getting together.

Australians will hate this little snippet....whilst in the US recently I bought an 8 pack of Energiser E2 Lithiums at Walmart for......

.....$16.84 usd.

For US readers, the standard supermarket price for a 4 pack of Lithiums in the wonderful land of rip off down under is $20 aud.

I think the only way to bring down prices of batteries in Aus is to do similar to what is being done to light globes (removing old tech incandescent globes from the shelves)...

remove 'heavy duty/super heavy duty" etc from the shelf, and stock only alkalines/lithiums/nimh . There is no use in today's society with our high power portable devices for such batteries any more. We are so stuck in our ways though it's ridiculous.

I am getting a notion from here, ebay copies of Eneloops are all chinese knock-off's, or if it's not true why anybody don't even consider ebay? Too risky?

I think the price u quote for the 4xAAs is quite costly. I am referring to the Dicksmith ones btw...

DCW is selling this for A$21.
Sanyo eneloop AA x 4 NiMH 2000mAH Rechargeable Batteries

I bought 2 packs of 4xAAs from somewhere in Perth (can't remember where) for A$20 each.

Maha Powerex Imedion 2100mAh Low Discharge NiMH rechargeable Batteries

These lovely people have "Imedion" $21.95 for 4AA plus plastic container plus volume discounts. Have purchased from them with very good service, they are also sponsors of another Photography Forum. Imedion are rated better than the Eneloops for holding charge.

wow those prices are pretty high
Here, we can get 8 packs of AA Sanyo eneloops for the equivalent of US$18. Might pick some up for my soon to come *ist D

FYI, new eneloops are coming out on 11/14 here. Differences over the old ones are that they can be charged about 1500 times (50% more than the previous), they have a storage life of 3 years and they come charged using solar power from the factory... MAybe that last point is important for hardcore environmentalists

That's a complicated question.

I have been using a Camplus Intercept charger for about 2 years, which is compact sized, reasonably priced and suits my needs, having the choice of mains and car charger.

If you follow the link on the site to The Docs' Charger and Battery Reviews, that may help you find your answer.

buy all my powerex 2700mah and imedion 2100mah slow discharge batteries from http://www.servaas.com.au

they also stock eneloops but powerex imedion 2100mah > eneloops

with 2 sets of 4x powerex 2700mah (one for body one for sigma 530 super flash) i get 1100+ photos out of my K200D + sigma 530 super They also discharge slower than regular nimh and act more like imedion/eneloop slow discharge bats.

Best of all 5yr warranty on powerex brand nimh bats

check out http://servaas.com.au/blog/index.php/canon-speedlite-flash-test-results-for-...on-powerex-aa/
