Just got an email from Newegg with a promotion code : DSLR10B for 10% off any DSLR.
They only have the K-x body only in stock. It's even more tempting at only $550!

the k-x body w/ 18-55 at $609 seems like a better deal. OOS though.

The coupon is only good until 11/16 and has a max $50 value. The kit lense is definately worth the extra $10, but who knows if it will be in stock before the coupon expires.

That said, the Japanese companies have their own problems--the yen is at 93 to the dollar today--making it difficult for them to make nice things like DSLRs affordable in the USA.

Nope. The weak and unstable $ was set in motion years ago under Bush and Iraq. As long as they're in Iraq and Afgan now the pressure will continue on weakening $.

Still, musn't grumble. I thank my lucky stars I'm not living in the UK and looking at 1200 quid for a K-7

& then there's petrol....

I got my K-x single lens kit from amdv.com for $595 delivered. Hasn't arrived yet cos the free shipping is 7-10 days. So Monday it will arrive.
