Checklist to test used K20D

Hi, I just picked-up a(slightly) used K20D on eBay and I only have a few days to determine if it's up to snuff or not.

I wanted to ask if anyone had insight on either a checklist or a list of steps to take to help determine if it's fully functional or not.

John, there really isn't one.
It's all about it doing the job you set out for it to do.
There will be virtually no need to test the electronic functions of the camera - it's the mechanical side that matters most - and you'd tell that it's working from the first few shots you take.

Mount your lenses and test them each in your preferred modes with different aperture settings.

Hopefully you'll warm yourself in to enjoy the camera than just be testing it.

Hi, thanks for the response.

This is actually a second K20D that I got it off eBay that I plan to replace our trusty K200D with.
However, I only have 3 days to put it through it's paces and figure out if there's anything wrong with it then my return policy ends.

I've come up with a short'ish checklist but I'm not sure if it will cover all of the critical areas.

  1. Inspect body(seals, doors, battery compartement etc) for signs of damage or abuse
  2. Visually inspect mirror, sensor and focusing screen mechanism for signs of damage or abuse(scratches, scuffs etc)
  3. Check no. of actuations - seller claims camera was purchased in Aug. 09, described it as "practically new"
  4. Shoot at all ISO's - check for sensor banding or streaking.
  5. Live view test.
  6. Remote, hot shoe and USB cable connection check

If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions I'd be very happy to have them.
