How to delete K7 shutter count?

I put my K20D's SDHC card into a K7, and forgot to format the card :-( And now the K7 file number is at playbeack read:100-5678 :-( How can i reset this number, to read at least the shutter-count (226)?
I tried to rename the file to imgp0001.jpg, but the next shot was imgp5678.jpg :-(
Any idea? Thank you.

It is not the shutter counter that is mixed up, it is the file counter.
Your shutter counter you can not reset.

Go into your camera menu (mine is set to Dutch, so I'm not sure abuot the name ), but go to the third top level tab (the one with the tool symbol), select the "File Name" option, move the cursor to the right here. Now select "Reset File Name".
This will reset the file counter the next time you put in a memory card with no previous files into your camera.
If you do not have any other SD cards, first copy all files to a computer and format the card, then reset the file counter.

Sorry for the wrong thread name
I tryed your suggestion, but don't worked. The counter read 5679.
I reset the file name, I deleted the files, put back to the camera, take a shot, and the counter the same.

You need to format the card, not just delete the files, I think.

This was the first card in the K7. That's matters?

I would not worry about the file number as it is not accurate anyway. The true shutter count can alway be checked using software called photome.

Undo the problem the same way you created it....
If you want it to pick up where it left off, just put a card in it with an image named: imgp0227.jpg

This will work, but you will have to clear the memory first on the camera. I don't have the camera infront of me, but the setting is on the 1st page when you press the menu button, call "memory..."

Go to menus, in the "camera" icon section, select 4th screen. Select "memory", go to 2nd screen, uncheck "file no.".

Take a picture; this should give IMGP_0001.jpg. Rename the file name to wherever you want the file counter to start counting from next (i.e., IMGP_0220.jpg).
