Amazon ended its previous, very generous price-matching policy this year. Officially, once you buy it and it is shipped to you, that is the price you pay. If you pre-order or the price drops before the item ships/you are charged, then you are eligible for the lower price.
The old rule was that within a 30 day window, you were eligible for the lowest price they offered the prodcut on their website.
This change means that some CSRs will still provide a price match, while others will vehemently deny it's possible. I've even had Amazon CSR's advise me to buy-return as they couldn't pricematch. Just FYI.
